Scottish Mamma Mia star shines as Britain’s Got Talent winner announced
Britain’s Got Talent crowned their winner on Sunday night after ten acts battled it out for a cash prize and a spot on the Royal Variety show.
Joining the finalists were the lovable dancing dog group The Trickstars, who were chosen as the Wildcard. Later in the show, Stevie Doc, a West End star from Scotland, took to the stage for a performance from the Abba-inspired show Mamma Mia!.
Stevie knows what it’s like to compete in a talent contest with such high stakes. The singer and actor shot to fame after winning ITV’s I Have a Dream where she was fighting for a chance to be Sophie in the West End’s Mamma Mia.

Stevie and Tobias Turley, who now portray Sophie and Sky in Mamma Mia! took to the stage alongside a star-studded cast including Mazz Murray as Donna Sheridan, gave a special performance.
The cast of Mamma Mia! The Musical delighted audiences with an insight into their show. As the Record writes, Stevie, from Glasgow, was beaming as she danced around the stage as gold confetti showered down from above.

Meanwhile, Haribow opened the final on Sunday night’s show with their energetic dutch skipping dance routine. Simon Cowell gave the group a standing ovation, as Alesha added “that could not have gone any better,” as she called them a “stand-out act.”
Amanda added: “The audience love you. Every time I think you peaked you go up another level. That was insanely brilliant, amazing performance.” Bruno echoed: “You took the performance level in a different way. You excelled yourselves.”
A speechless Simon quipped: “It was so brilliant. You pulled it out the bag, one of the most incredible performances. Everything about that, for me, was perfection you couldn’t have done any more.
The dancing dog group Trickstars also impressed the panel with their routine from The Greatest Showman.
Simon said: “I really felt for you when you didn’t make it. Doing it so well and with so many dogs, this was everything a final performance should be and when it mattered you delivered. I am so happy for you.”
Amanda added: “I’m so glad you got the wild card and had this opportunity.” Whilst Bruno quipped: “You should be proud of yourself this was an amazing achievement, you were the ring master.” Alesha even went as far to say they could be the best act of the night.
Ultimately it was singer Sydnie Christmas who stole the show with her rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow and was crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2024.
