Scottish mountain rescue team and police rush to injured biker
A large emergency response team flocked to help a seriously injured mountain biker on Sunday morning.
Tweed Valley Scottish Mountain Rescue Team were called out to a popular hiking trail just a short drive from Edinburgh following a report of an injured biker.
Police and paramedics were also at the scene at Glentress to assist the cyclist who was seriously injured.

The mountain team evacuated the person by stretcher to an air ambulance. They were then taken to hospital for treatment.
On Sunday, Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue, who serve the Lothians and Borders, said: “The Team were called to Glentress this morning to aid a seriously injured mountain biker. The team evacuated the casualty by stretcher from the trails to a Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance – SCAA helicopter, who then airlifted the casualty to hospital.
“We wish the casualty all the best in their recovery.
“This callout involved 15 TVMRT members as well as Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics, and officers from Police Scotland Lothians and Scottish Borders, another example of good multi agency working.”
