Scottish Taylor Swift fans issue desperate plea just days before Murrayfield gig

Taylor Swift is bringing her Eras World Tour to Edinburgh next weekend to play three highly anticipated shows at Murrayfield Stadium.

The Love Story sensation has been touring across the globe since last March on her epic world tour which boasts an impressive 44 track set-list.

The wait is now almost over for Scottish swifties as the singer is set to kickstart the UK leg of the tour at Murrayfield on June 9.

Scottish fans who survived the “great war” on Ticketmaster and AXS last year are now just days away from seeing the iconic popstar.

But it seems excitement may be mixed in with some dread as some ticket holders have taken to social media to issue a desperate plea to other fans ahead of Swift’s Edinburgh gigs which will take place from June 7 to June 9.

Fans of the Cruel Summer star have begged other concert goers to not camp out ahead of the popstar’s concerts.

Murrayfield Stadium have warned fans not to camp around the venue with a statement on their website which reads: “Scottish Gas Murrayfield is situated in an industrial and residential area that isn’t suitable for overnight camping or anyone queuing too far in advance of the gates opening.

“Therefore, we ask that anyone attending the shows only arrives at the venue at the time advertised on their ticket, on the day of their show.

“Please note that access for this concert is different from previous concerts, so queuing, and access is not the same as previous shows held at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.”

Despite this advice, some fans still seem to be worried that others will break the rule and have admitted they are feeling anxious about the queuing situation in the build up to the gigs.

TikTok user @bl0ndiesbitch took to the social media platform to directly address Edinburgh swifties in a viral video which now has 57k views.

She said: “I’m putting it out there. We’re not camping. We are NOT camping.

“We’re grown adults, you are not sitting up all night, sitting on a patch of grass waiting to get into the concert. It is not happening.”

According to the user, who goes by the name Rhiannon, the line to get into the first of Swift’s gigs at Murrayfield on Friday June 9 starts at 10am.

She added: “You will not catch me the night before standing, if I go onto Twitter and I see that someone has started the line at midnight the day before. Go home!

“Actually go home. Go sleep in your own bed, you do not need to be there!”

Other swifties flocked to the comments to give their views as one wrote: “PLEASE no camping. I’m no turning up anytime before 11am” alongside two crying face emojis.

Another wrote: “I am so pleased I have seats lol” while a third reassured: “Front right standing also I’ll be getting lunch and going in after 1pm!”

TikTok user @lisasliftingclub has also begged Edinburgh swifties to make a ‘pact not to camp’ as she pleaded: “I haven’t got the energy so lets all be chill yeah???”

Some fans were quick to remind her about Murrayfield’s no camping statement but Lisa hit back that this hasn’t stopped fans doing it before.

Referring to Harry Styles’ gig at Murrayfield in May last year, she said: “Apparently people still did it for Harry! So I don’t hold out much hope for Taylor.”

Murrayfield Stadium have also asked fans who don’t have tickets to the show to not turn up to the venue to avoid disruption to the local residents and businesses.

On their website it states: “No one is allowed to stand outside the gates, or at the tram stop and will be moved on.”

Doors will open at 3pm for those with VIP tickets which grants them early entry and all other ticketholders will be able to enter the stadium at 4pm.
