The much-loved store opened its doors last summer on Hamilton Place.

The bakery went viral for its two-hour long queues, with locals lining up for the sweet treats.

And would regularly run out of pastries by 11am as it is so popular.

Self-taught baker Darcie Maher, who grew up in the Scottish Borders, runs the site.

As well as custard slices and cardamom buns, her signature bakes include the Lannan Apple Pie and Custard with Kissabel apples, crème fraîche custard, cinnamon sugar, and latticed croissant pastry, and her Rhubarb, Custard and Almond cake.

Savoury bakes include Merguez sausage rolls with braised fennel and Monte Enebro cheese, and Nduja, garlic fermented honey, and Murcia al vino cheese buns.

Punters love the small bakery and always queue up early.

One person wrote: “Lannan bakery. Be prepared to get there early if you want pastries. There’s always a queue and they always sell out early.”

Another said: “The pastries at Lannan bakery must be off the chart. A queue this long at 7.50am. Never seen anything like it!”

A third commented: “Wow. Your bakes are true works of art. Beautiful.”
