Supermarkets and shops in Scotland closed for Boxing Day 2023 – full list so far
Boxing Day is usually another busy day for many retailers and supermarkets during the holidays, but that has changed over the past few years.
Before the pandemic, the majority of stores would only remain closed on the big day itself, December 25. Doors would then reopen on Boxing Day, which was once a prime shopping day for any deals and discounts.
However, many retailers have been changing up their festive opening hours over the past few years, with many confirming that they will be remaining closed on December 26 to give staff a much-needed break.
For many major stores, this will be their fourth consecutive year remaining closed on what used to be a prime shopping day, after they made the decision during the first coronavirus lockdown back in 2020.
To help you plan your post-Christmas shopping, we have a full list of all the confirmed supermarkets and shops that will be closed on December 26 across Scotland to make sure you are well prepared.

The budget supermarket chain has once again confirmed that it will be remaining closed on Boxing Day this year.
The news was announced earlier in November, with the budget grocer explaining that it was staying closed for an extra day to thank colleagues for their hard work, and to give them extra time with their loved ones.
