Taylor Wimpey West Scotland to hold Teddy Bear’s Picnic and afternoon tea
House-hunters are invited to an exclusive themed show home opening event at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s eagerly awaited Calder Wynd development – and they don’t even have to go down to the woods to do so.
From 12 noon to 4pm on June 8, visitors are welcome to a Teddy Bear’s Picnic and afternoon tea at the Carnbroe site.
Everyone who brings along a teddy bear will generate a £25 donation to St Andrew’s Hospice in Airdrie.

Visitors will also have their first opportunity to view two stylish show homes – the Fraser and Maxwell four-bedroom detached – and there will be a range of activities for families to enjoy, including storytelling, face painting, balloon modelling, a teddy bear hunt and the chance to meet a giant balloon bear.
Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, told Lanarkshire Live: “Our Calder Wynd development in Carnbroe is already proving popular with a wide range of buyers looking to call this well-connected development their home.
“We don’t just build new homes; we support the communities where we build, and our show home launch event is an ideal opportunity for us to raise funds for St Andrew’s Hospice, who are our local charity partner who receive £25 per new home sold in phase one at the development.
“I hope that house-hunters and members of the local community will come along to our Teddy Bear’s Picnic and afternoon tea event to help us raise additional funds for them = there’s plenty going on to keep everyone in the family busy.
“It’s also a great time to find out ways in which we can help to get them on the move, including our Easymover or Easymover Guaranteed schemes, which offer help to buyers who have a property to sell.”
Lorna McCafferty, trusts, legacy and individual giving manager of St Andrew’s Hospice, who has been invited along to officially open the show homes at the event, added: “We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we are thrilled they are hosting a Teddy Bear’s picnic and afternoon tea as part of our fundraising efforts in the community this month – our Teddy Bear Adventures and our Great T-Parties.
“We can’t thank them enough for their ongoing support, and I’m looking forward to opening and, of course, looking around the new show homes.
“All monies raised as part of this event will be put to work locally to help us deliver a range of projects to those who need the support of St Andrew’s Hospice.
“On behalf of everyone who uses our services, I would like to say a huge thank you.”
Nestled in the heart of North Lanarkshire, Calder Wynd offers 188 two and three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached homes, as well as four-bedroom new homes, together with the associated infrastructure such as roads, parking, and open space required for a development of this scale.
