The Scots holiday park in ‘gateway to the Highlands’ crowned best in the country

If you are currently on the lookout for a holiday park in Scotland to head to with the family, you are in luck.

Earlier this week consumer watchdog Which? shared a report of best and worst holiday parks across Scotland. Coming in at number one was Forest Parks, which has three different locations around the country.

One of these is Strathyre in Stirling, which is surrounded by wild forests, dramatic mountains, and idyllic views out over Loch Lubnaig. Sitting beneath the stunning peaks of Ben Ledi, Forest Holidays offers a number of cabins for the perfect family retreat.

According to the Forest Holidays website, its cabins range in size from cosy hideaways for one or two people to large ‘treehouses’ that can sleep up to 10. Some of these include breathtaking views out over the loch, while others are found in a tranquil forest glade — and each one comes with its own private hot tub.

Meanwhile, there is a huge variety of things to see and do around Strathyre — from forest ranger activities to pottery painting. Other highlights of the activities on offer include archery, gorge walking, and axe throwing.

There are even in-cabin spa treatments available to help you have as relaxing a break as possible. Among the treatments on offer are massages, facials, and pedicures.

In terms of amenities, Strathyre is centred around The Forest Retreat. This is a hub that includes a café, a bar, and a shop that is stocked with both everyday essentials and holiday luxuries.
