Three delicious gin and Irn-Bru cocktail recipes for the perfect Scottish drink
Scotland’s national drink is whisky, but there are a few others that are loved across the country. Irn-Bru is, of course, known as Scotland’s ‘other’ national drink and gin has been growing in popularity over the last decade.
Many whisky firms also produce gins of their own, as the process isn’t quite as long as whisky. With it being simpler to create, many gin companies have sprung up across Scotland in recent years, utilising our natural botanicals to create great-tasting booze.
Given the popularity of both gin and Irn-Bru, it’s not surprising that people have considered combining the two. And if it’s something you’ve considered, the experts at the Craft Gin Club have three brilliant cocktails for you to try; each of them a twist on a classic cocktail.

The Ne-bru-ni
The CGC team describe this cocktail as “the Negroni of the north”. The booze experts make no apology for replacing vermouth with Irn-Bru, saying the drink is: “Slightly bitter, slightly orange-y. We think it works.”
Ingredients:
25ml Gin
25ml Campari
25ml Irn-Bru
Recipe:
Add the gin and campari to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.
Pour into a rocks glass filled with ice and top up with the Irn-Bru.
