Transfer Rumour: Port Vale striker linked with move back to Scotland – onevalefan.co.uk

The media in Scotland says that out of contract Port Vale striker Uche Ikpeazu has been targeted by St Johnstone.

The Scottish club are managed by Craig Levein who had Ikpeazu in his squad when he managed Hearts. The striker was a success for the club, scoring ten times in 55 games for the Scottish Premier side.

Ikpeazu has divided opinion amongst fans  since joining the Valiants for a second time in his career. Some have praised Ikpeazu for his power which some League One defences have struggled with but others will point to a scoring record of just one goal in 26 games.

The Valiants reported that Ikpeazu was in talks with the club about his contract situation but he may be tempted by a move North of the border.

According to the Courier newspaper, Levein is “keen” for Ikpeazu to make the switch.

The striker, who has been called up by the Uganda national side, agreed to join the Valiants in October for a second spell following a period on loan back in 2015. His complete record for the club stands at 52 appearances and seven goals.
