USA vs. Brazil live updates, score: Summer Olympics men’s basketball heads to the quarterfinals

Joel Embiid has heard the boos from French fans since he first took the court in Paris for Team USA. He’s responding Tuesday with a monster first half against Brazil.

Embiid has three 3-pointers and leads USA with 14 points through the first half. USA is in full control with a 63-36 halftime lead.

LeBron James has 10 points, and Devin Booker has nine. USA’s turning defense into offense with five blocks and five steals leading to transition buckets on the other end. Americans are shooting 59% (23 of 39) from the field.

USA’s well on its way to a semifinal matchup Nikola Jokić and Serbia. Germany and France advanced on the other side of the bracket earlier Tuesday.
