Virgin Radio, Graham Norton and David Carlyle receive nominations for Proud Scotland Awards | Virgin Radio UK

Virgin Radio and our very own presenters David Carlyle and Graham Norton have been nominated at the Proud Scotland Awards.
The Proud Scotland Awards, which have been running since 2019, celebrate the LGBTQI+ community by recognising the commitment of individuals and organisations who stand up for diversity, equality and inclusion across the country.
This year, we are proud to announce that Virgin Radio has been nominated for the Corporate Ally Award, which celebrates a corporate body that has gone above and beyond in support of the LGBTQI+ community and for equality.
Also nominated in the category is Absolut Vodka, Barclays, HSBC, Molson Coors and OVO Energy.
Our very own Graham Norton has also received a nomination for the Celebrity Champion Award, which recognises the actions of a celebrity or piece of media within the public eye, championing for equality and in support of the community. Nominated alongside him is Joe Lycett, Jake Shears, King Charles III, Outlander productions and Disney.
Virgin Radio Pride presenter and It’s A Sin star David Carlyle is up for the Community Champion Award, for championing LGBTQI+ equality, community support and services alongside Billy Thomson, Cheri Treiffel, Deejay Bullock, Ruth McGill and Seth Cameron-Crichton.
In other awards news, Virgin Radio has also been nominated at the Radio Awards Storytellers Gala 2023 in New York.
The Graham Norton Radio Show with Waitrose won a bronze award for Best Regularly Scheduled Music Program and silver for Best Music Program Host, while our Pride special The Rise Of LGBT+ Football Fan Groups, also bagged silver in the human rights category.
The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky was also successful with a silver award for Best Music/Personality Show and made the final for Best Radio Personality: Network/Syndicated.
Joining the breakfast show as a finalist at the awards will be Virgin Radio’s Quite a Queer Conversation for best mini-series and The Sound of 007 for best music special.
