Watch Gary Anderson troll England fans with brutal response to Scotland chants
GARY ANDERSON goaded England fans with a 2-1 hand gesture after being kicked out of the World Matchplay.
The Flying Scotsman threw away a 3-0 lead as his protege Michael Smith came back to win 10-5 at the Winter Gardens.
But as the crowd chanted “Scotland get battered everywhere they go”, Ando reacted with the hand signal of the Euro final score from the night before.
Anderson came flying out the blocks but Smith reeled off seven successive legs to take control.
He said: “When I lose it doesn’t really matter nowadays. I’m hitting more 117 averages on the ProTours. I’m actually still playing well.
“It’s one of those things. If they go well, brilliant. If they don’t go well, I’m offski and I’m home for a few days off.
Smith said: “You could see me shushing the crowd. It’s not nice.
“Gary put the 2-1 up, it kind of annoyed me and I knew what he was doing with the crowd. But it’s one of them, it happens.
“It’s nice Gaz being around. Sometimes he can be a bit of a moaner. But he loves darts and it’s nice to see him back on form.
“Fortunately me and Gary’s game has been a bit overshadowed by Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler. We both just got on with our game.”
Anderson was outstanding in the early stages with an outstanding 92 finish with two double 18s.
But Smith took control thereafter with a brilliant display of heavy scoring and clinical finishing and hit a slick 90 in two darts to end Anderson’s hopes of a second Matchplay title.
