Wood cuts 22 jobs at Aberdeen headquarters
As part of a project to simplify its corporate functions, Wood is proposing to make 34 UK roles redundant.
Of these, 22 jobs are set to be lost at the group’s Aberdeen headquarters.
“We are providing the necessary care and support to those employees affected by this proposal,” said a spokesperson.
The multi-national engineering consultancy has approximately 4,500 employees in Aberdeen and across the North Sea.
Of the 34 roles, all are corporate functional positions, with Wood’s employees supporting client assets on and offshore not affected.
A statement from the group explained that the aim of the exercise is to reduce organisational complexity, right size its functional design and drive efficiency.
Wood added that it remains committed to Aberdeen and the North Sea, with recent examples including a $300m contract with Harbour Energy and a tieback contract with BP.
