Yankees trade outfielder Taylor Trammell to Astros
The Yankees have dealt outfielder Taylor Trammell, sending him to Houston in a trade with the Astros in exchange for cash considerations.
Trammell played in five games for New York in 2024 after getting claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers early in the season. He had a hit and a walk in his only two plate appearances for the Yanks and scored two runs before getting sent down to Triple-A.
The trade comes a day after New York added the 27-year-old to the 40-man roster, along with two others.
Trammell was selected No. 35 overall in the 2016 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds and is a former top 100 prospect. He made his MLB debut in 2021 with the Seattle Mariners.
In 126 career games, the outfielder has hit .167 with 15 home runs, 39 RBI and a .633 OPS.
