YouTube star takes on Scotland’s ‘monstrous burger challenge’

YouTube star Adam Moran nearly bit off more than he could chew after tackling the latest food challenge. He travelled to Scotland from Leeds to take on a whopping burger – and all the sides.

A small cafe in Scotland has been putting locals to the test for the ‘ultimate’ burger challenge for years. If they manage to scran the mountain of food in less than 45 minutes, they get the meal for free.

However the monstrous burger in Edinburgh’s City Cafe was a tough task even for Adam, who has has almost four million Youtube subscribers. Edinburgh Live reports the challenge is very rarely accomplished in around a decade since it was put on the menu.

The beef burger which he says was “two inches thick” is loaded with bacon, chicken, cheese and heaps of other trimmings. However they need to polish off not only the burger, but the basket full of thick cut chips and coleslaw.

BeardMeatsFood alleges that only a handful of people have ever managed to finish the task in the timeframe. But for those able to overcome the odds, they get their £37.50 meal for free as well as a winner’s jumper.

Sharing a clip of his visit to Edinburgh in January when he took on the challenge, Adam explained to fans how he got on. He joked: “I need to do some more front raises in the gym – it’s pretty heavy.”

“So we’re in a place called the City Cafe which is in Edinburgh and I’m doing the ultimate burger challenge,” he added. Staff joked he only had 35 minutes, however after clarifying he does indeed get 45 the star got tucked in.
